Will Ruddy Operations Manager
WILL RUDDY (Operations Manager)
A man of very diverse talents, Will has been involved in nearly every aspect of the music business from performing to arranging to working in lighting to hosting karaoke. Beginning with participation in concert bands and choirs during his school years, he discovered a love of learning musical instruments that took him from accordion and clarinet to saxophone and bass guitar.
Will’s involvement at Gigs also reaches beyond the music and into the Operations side of the business where he takes on the role of Operations Manager and is responsible for equipment maintenance, administrative system support, music library maintenance and site evaluations.
Educated in music theory at Humber College, he went on to study under prominent vocal coach Ed Johnson, and views musical learning as a lifelong process. His singing talents led to recording credit on the band Von Groove’s third album, ‘Mission Man’, and on the ‘Strength, Power, Passion’ theme song that Canada used for the Nagano Winter Olympic Games TV coverage.
In 1989 Will added Karaoke hosting to his list of achievements, and has since gained considerable experience in that field, working initially for the company Karaoke Entertainment, and after two years setting out to establish a reputation on his own. As well as his hosting work throughout Ontario, he has performed for Mariposa Cruise Lines and The Cabbagetown Festival.
The diversity of Will’s career is mirrored in his personal life where his pursuits have included everything from hang gliding and hydroplane racing to horseback riding and marksmanship. But his most important commitment is to his wife and son.
